ALAN BROOKS
SPENCERVILLE — Alan D. Brooks, 35, died the evening of July 11, 2014, at his residence.
He was born May 30, 1979, in Lima to Dale A. and Rhonda Jo Barker Brooks. His father and stepmother, Candy Brooks, survive in Delphos, and his mother and stepfather, David L. Youngpeter, survive in Spencerville. He was formerly married to Misty Holdgrave, of Delphos.
Mr. Brooks was a 1997 graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School. He became a tool and die maker and had worked at MacDonald Industries in Spencerville, Lakeview Farms Co. of Delphos and PSI Corp. of Ottoville. He totally enjoyed being with his boys and all of their activities, hunting, chess, camping and trips to Kentucky with friends.
Survivors also include two sons, Johnathan Brooks, of Delphos, and Cole Brooks, of Delphos; two brothers, Derrick Brooks, of Delphos, and David Brooks, of Delphos; and grandparents Roger and Joann Barker, of Defiance.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Ray and Norma Brooks.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville. The Rev. Rodney Shade will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Landeck.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Contributions may be given to Alan's mother, Rhonda, to be used for his sons.
