Obituary

Spencerville; Alfred R. "Al" Kill, 84, of Delphos and formerly of Spencerville, died Monday morning in the Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center following a short illness with Cancer.
He was born June 20, 1933 in Landeck to the late Clarence J. and Freda M. Donaldson Kill. On August 21, 1954 he married M. Louise Maurer, who died November 7, 2003.
Surviving are his companion Catherine Miller of Delphos; a daughter Sharon (Mark) Robey of Spencerville and daughter-in-law; Kimberlee Kill of South Charleston, WV.; six grandchildren; Jason (Angie) Robey of Amelia, OH.; Ryan (Rachel) Robey of Delphos; Tiffany (Daniel) Seibert of Spencerville; Kara (Andrew) Burns of Burke, VA.; Kristin Juliano of Hamilton, NY and Alison (Brian Pedrick) Kill of Greenville, SC. and eleven great grandchildren.
Also surviving are four sisters; Martha (Louie) Hotz of Paulding; Kathy (Bill) Courtney of Delphos; Bert (Ron) Schimmoeller of Delphos and Rita (Sam) Utrup of Delphos.
He was preceded in death by a son; Jerry Kill; brother Elmer Kill and sister; Rosemary (Lawrence) Hilvers and infant brothers; Ralf and Carl Kill.
Al was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Spencerville. He served in the U.S.Air Force from 1952 thru 1966. He was a member of Harry J. Reynolds American Legion Post 191 and was a 60 plus year member of the C.K. of O. in Landeck and a member of the Delphos Eagles Lodge. He was a 1951 graduate of Spencerville High School.
He retired in 1987 from the Lima Engine Plant of Ford Motor Company, having worked over 30 years in maintenance. He enjoyed playing cards, traveling, spending time with family and friends and his winters in Florida.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Thursday in the St. Patrick Church in Spencerville with Father Daniel Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencerville Cemetery with military honors by the Spencerville Veterans and the Air Force Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 PM Wednesday and from 9 until 9:30 AM Thursday at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, where C K of O services will be at 8 PM and prayer services will at 8:15 pm Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Church or to the C K of O in Landeck.
