Obituary

Aloysius Clarence Kill Jr., 72, of Spencerville passed away peacefully at 10:30 A.M. on January 17, 2023 at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.

Aloysius was born on January 10, 1951 at home on the reservoir in Allen County to the late Aloysius Charles and Rose Mary (Elwer) Kill. Junior grew up in the Spencerville area and was a member of the Spencerville graduating class of 1970. After high school, he enlisted in the Army where he served from 1971 to his honorable discharge from active duty on April 23, 1974. Junior began working at Hays Albian once he completed his time in the military. He also spent some time working at the Ford Motor Company before going to work Ohio Decorative Products where he stayed working for 27 years until his retirement.

Junior was member of the Spencerville American Legion Post #191 and the Spencerville VFW Post #6772. He loved farming and cherished the time he spent with friends and family.

Aloysius is survived by his sons, Adam (Katrina) Kill of Van Wert and Aaron (Betty Hale) Kill of Spencerville; granddaughter, Karly Kill; siblings, Leroy (Marcia) Kill of Venadocia, Jerome (Sherry) Kill of Monroeville, IN, Judy Kill of Monroeville, IN, Jane Kill of St. Mary's, Sam (Laurie) Kill of Spencerville, Susan Hurles of St. Mary's, and Stanley (Kim) Kill of Spencerville; sister-in-law, Darlene Overmeyer of Defiance; twenty-one nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Lavern Kill, Loretta Kill and June McKinley.

There will be a visitation from 10:00-12:00 followed by his funeral service at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville. Pastor Andrew Atkins will be officiating the service. In honor of Junior, the family request that anyone in attendance feel free to dress casual. Memorials may be given to the Spencerville American Legion or Spencerville VFW.
