ALYCE MORRISON

SPENCERVILLE — Alyce M. Morrison, 88, died at 3:20 p.m. Jan. 6, 2015, at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home with her family at her side, where she had resided since 2012.

She was born Feb. 6, 1926, in Spencerville, to Homer W. and Edna Eley Rider, who preceded her in death. On Sept. 1, 1946, she married Thomas T. "Tom" Morrison, who died Sept. 5, 2008.

Mrs. Morrison was a 1944 graduate of Spencerville High School and was a graduate of cosmetology school. She had operated her beauty shop in Spencerville in the 1940s. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Spencerville, where she had been a Sunday school teacher and helped the Bible school and had attended Friends Church also. She had worked many years as a cook at Spencerville schools and also volunteered at the school. She enjoyed working crosswords and was an avid OSU, Chicago Bears and Spencerville Bearcat fan. She was known as "Graham Cracker" to her grandchildren.

Survivors include four children, Linda Morrison, of Spencerville, Debby Morrison, of Spencerville, David (Lisa) Morrison, of Germantown, and Lori Morrison, of Spencerville; six grandchildren, Stephen Stanfield, of Spencerville, Liz (Tom) Bacome, of Spencerville, Missy (Kevin) Lehmkuhl, of Spencerville, T.J. Stanfield, of Spencerville, Will Morrison, of Dayton, and Meg (Jim) Dils, of Centerville; and seven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary (Karl) Krendl; and a brother, Ken (Sue) Rider.

Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville. The Rev. David W. Howell and the Rev. Charles H. Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Spencerville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
