ANNA TRUAX

SPENCERVILLE — Anna Mae Truax, 89, of Salem Township, Auglaize County, passed away peacefully at 12:10 PM Monday, March 27, 2017 in the St. Rita's Hospice Center with her family at her side, following a three month illness.

She was born April 26, 1927 in Salem Twp., Auglaize County, a daughter of William F. "Bill" and Mary Henne Zimmerman, who are deceased. On May 2, 1948 she married John J. Truax, who died November 14, 2013.

She is survived by three children; Danial J. (Mavis) Truax of Camden, MI.; Cindy A. (Michael) Carr of Pioneer, OH. and Regina S. (Deane) Mann of Wapakoneta; 10 grandchildren; Christy (John) Potts, Montpelier, OH.; Annette (Mike) Potts, Camden, MI.; Laura (Shannon) Miller, Camden, MI.; Amy (Matt) Gibson, Grand Lake, CO.; Sherilyn (Ken) Wood, Stryker,OH.; Kevin & Jeff Carr, Pioneer,OH. Scott Mann, Wapakoneta; Susan Mann, Botkins and Shawn (Jennifer Timmerman) Mann of Wapakoneta; 21 great grandchildren; Robert, Jennifer, Kyle, Elizabeth, Jake, Brianna, Ethan, Trinity, Anthony, Samantha, Jessica, Jordan, Alexis, Austin, Mariah, Hanna, Zoe, Sarah, Kendall, Koby and Kolten and one great great grandson; Teegyn and three in-laws; Emma Beams of Marquette, Mi.; Charles (Isabelle) Truax of Van Wert and Shirley Murphy of Findlay.

Anna was preceded in death by her sister; Fern (George) Pratte, her twin infant brothers; her in-laws; Geraldine (Eugene) Stopher; Pauline (Edward) Speakman; Clara Marie Truax; Rose (Arno) Walters, Sue (Ken) Kautz; Betty (Robert) Prine and Willie Murphy.

She was a 1945 graduate of Spencerville High School and a long time member of Bethlehem Christian Union Church, North of Buckland, where she had been a Sunday school teacher and member of its Ladies Aid Society. She had worked in the Spencerville School Cafeteria, mostly at the Jennings School and also the Roselawn Manor in Dietary. Later she was a "Food Demo Lady" for Brodbeck's and Chiefs Groceries in St. Marys.

She loved to sew for her daughters and granddaughters, crochet, reading , birds and flowers. She gave "Bird talks" at area nursing homes.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday in the Bethlehem Church with Pastors Kent Place and Glen Prine officiating. Burial will follow in the Kossuth Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Bethlehem church from 2 until 8 PM Wednesday and after 10 AM Thursday.
