Arthur E. Nungester Jr., 88, of rural Lima passed away early Thursday morning, November 24, 2022 at the Roselawn Manor in Spencerville with his family at his side.

Art was born in Lima on December 25, 1933 to the late Arthur Eugene Sr. and Cora Henna (Hill) Nungester. He grew up in the Lima area and graduated from Lima Central High School 1951. Being a bachelor the first 46 years of his life, he casually got to know Diana Horn. After Diana's husband, William Horn, passed away in a vehicle accident, Art and her had gotten closer the next few year before they were united in marriage on June 9, 1979. Arthur was kind, generous, patient and loving, especially when it came to his family. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Spencerville and bowled in a league for a few years.

Surviving Arthur is his wife of 43 years, Diana; three daughters, Julie Diane Horn Sloan of Delphos, Melanie Kay (Bruce) Lee of Findlay, and Lisa A. (Nicholas) Sloan of Delphos; eight grandchildren, Greg Sloan of Delphos, Andrea (Jon) Marshall of Delphos, Brandy (Sam) Sears of Van Wert, Angelia (Gavin Amos) Wiechart of Findlay, Jennifer (Richard) Wilson of Spencerville, Sarah Taylor of Genoa, Gary Grubbs of Findlay, and Ashley D. Sloan of Columbus Grove; seventeen great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ronald Nungester.

There will be a visitation from 2:00-5:00 P.M. followed by his funeral service at 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville. Pastor Andrew Atkins will be officiating the service. Memorials may be given to the Spencerville Ambulance Service or Trinity United Methodist Church of Spencerville.
