Spencerville; Billy Joe Stephenson, SR., 84, of Spencerville, passed away at 11:35 PM Sunday April 22, 2018 in the Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center following a short illness.

He was born September 14, 1933 in Tipton, IN., a son of the late Orlando M. and Mary K. Richardson Stephenson. On February 20, 1953 he married Evelyn Glasco, who survives, along with three children; Scott O. (Pam) Stephenson of Shawnee; Eric D. (Kathleen) Stephenson of Delphos and Sheila R. Stephenson of Kimball, TN; 3 grandchildren and one great grandchild; and two sisters; Susan Jane Timberlin and Mary Lou Roby, both of St. Marys.

Preceding him in death was his son, Billy Joe Stephenson, Jr. on February 15, 2013.

Bill was a graduate of Memorial High School in St. Marys and had attended Bob Jones University. He retired after 42 years service at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in St. Marys as a press operator. He also worked 30 years part time at the Spencerville Post Office.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Northwest Ohio Field and Stream Assn., both of

Spencerville and enjoyed gardening.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, with Pastor Jim Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencerville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Wednesday and after 10 AM Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church.
