Spencerville;  Bonnie Lou Kill, 76, went to be with her Lord at 10;30 AM Tuesday ,August 10, 2021, at her residence following an extended illness.

She was born in Lima  September 22, 1944, the daughter of the late Alvin and Velma Miller Shocknesse.   She married Charles C. "Charlie" Kill on June 3, 1967, who died June 30, 2020.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter Jodie L. (Don) Smith of Shawnee and her grandsons, Zebulon Charles Homer Smith and Solomon Clark Alvin Smith, both of Shawnee and her in-laws; Delores Schetter of St. Marys, Evelyn Kohler and Danny Deitz, both of Wapakoneta, Hazel Kill of Lima and Irma Kill of Delphos.

She was a 1962 graduate of Spencerville High School and had attended Spencerville's Friends Church and Church of the Nazarene. She always made ever holiday special, and when you went into her shop there was a real good chance you would hear about Jesus. Bonnie never knew a stranger and when you left her shop you were a lifelong friend.

As a young lady she helped her dad  train race horses. She worked 8 years at the former Fisher Cheese Company in Wapakoneta and had sold Avon Products.

In 1971, Bonnie and her husband Charlie opened Kill's Flowers and Gifts, serving Spencerville for 50 years, now operated by her daughter Jodie.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Pastor Terry Brock officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencerville Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 PM Friday and after 10 AM Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Spencerville Ambulance Service.
