CAROLYN YOUNG
CELINA — Carolyn Ann Young, 78, formerly of Mendon, died at 9:56 a.m. Oct. 27, 2014, at The Gardens of Celina, following a short illness.
She was born Sept. 22, 1936, in Mercer County to Wilbert O. "Bus" and Mary Mildred Pollock Coffman, who preceded her in death. On Sept. 6, 1966, she married Daniel D. Young, who died Nov. 25, 2011.
Mrs. Young was a 1954 graduate of Spencerville High School. She then worked 33 years at Huffy Corp. in Celina in the paint department. She and her husband were very active at the Celina Baptist Temple and managed its church busing program. She loved to cook and do canning and sharing it with family and friends.
Survivors include five children, Cindy Luedeke, of Celina, Victor Snyder, of Blissfield, Michigan, Vickie (Jay) Jeffries, of Celina, Pam Snyder, of Celina, and Daniel D. Young, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; two stepchildren, Mary (Dan) Snyder, of Spencerville, and Anna Basa, of Sagniaw, Michigan; nine grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Carol (Rudy) McMichael, of North Richland Hills, Texas; and her beloved Boston terrier Susie.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Robert W. Luedeke.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville. Pastors Jason Springer and Donald Clinger will officiate. Burial will be in Mendon Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
