Obituary

Charles Uel Peace, 88, of Lima, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at 1:42 p.m. on Friday, June 23, 2023 at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.

Charles was born on October 23, 1934 at St. Mary's Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas to the late Chelcie Albert and Janit Louise (Tawney) Peace. After graduating high school in Kansas, he entered the United State Air Force in August of 1956 in Pontiac Michigan. Charles time in the military took him and his family all over the country and to a few places around the world before he retired from the Air Force in August of 1976. After retiring from the military, Charles resided in Arizona for a number of years before traveling to Ohio to meet Evelyn Mae Adams. Charles and Evelyn got married on July 11, 2006 and made their home in Lima.

Charles was a member of the Harry J. Reynolds American Legion post #191 in Spencerville. He spent many years after retiring working on home improvement projects and fixing vehicles and other items for neighbors, friends, and generally anyone who needed help. He loved tinkering and working on different projects. He also took a great interest in the stock markets and investing.

Charles is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Lima; two children, Rhonda Jean Peace of Murrells Inlet, SC and Michael Peace of Lima; two step-children, Daniel Fuller of St. Mary's and Melissa Fuller of Lima; three grandchildren, Charles Lynn Peace of Moscow, ID, Geoffrey (Paula) Harlow of Nashville, TN and Tawney (Dean Antel) Gustison of Jacksonville, NC; two step-grandchildren, Adrian Lyles and Dietrich Lyles both of Lima; great grandchildren, Ashley (Lee) Hall of Pocatello, ID, Aurora Way and Aly Way of Idaho Falls, ID, Joslyn Peace of Coeur d'Alene, ID, Leo and West Harlow of Nashville, TN; two great great grandchildren, Indika and Hayden Hall of Pocatello, ID; nieces and nephews, Gina Louise Foli of Clover, SC, Gary Foli of Detroit Lakes, MN, Tish Haley and Jim Haley of Coolidge, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patricia June Peace.

There will be a graveside service held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Spencerville cemetery with Pastor Jim Fletcher officiating the service.
