Spencerville; Christopher Ross "Chris" Koenig, 67, of Spencerville, passed away at 7:45 PM Wednesday, January 2, 2019 in the Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center following a sudden illness.

He was born November 9, 1951 in Lima, the son of the late Ross Calvin and Rosemary Maxine "Mary" Ryan Koenig.

Surviving are his son; Norman L. (Sydney) Koenig; his grandchildren; Melanie Christine Koenig and Tyler Christopher Koenig and his sisters; Nancy C. Koenig of Spencerville and Rose M. (Michael) Mowery of Van Wert.

Preceding him in death is his sister; Janice S. Koenig.

Chris was a 1970 graduate of Spencerville High School and worked many years at the former Trim-Trends Company in Spencerville.

He liked all sports,but especially loved baseball. He had coached the "Little League" teams in Spencerville and later the Lima Legion Baseball. He loved all OSU sports programs.

Funeral services will be at 4 PM Sunday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Pastor Tom Shobe officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Spencerville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 PM until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
