Spencerville; Daniel Edwin "Ed" Graessle, 92, of Elida and formerly of Spencerville, passed away peacefully at 4:59 PM Friday, February 9, 2018 in the Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center with his family at his side.

He was born June 11, 1925 near Kossuth in Auglaize County, a son of the late Frank Mack and Vira Edna Reed Graessle. On July 24, 1958 he married Mildred E. Kraft Coffman, who survives, along with his step-daughter Debra Kay (Michael) Williams of Elida; two step granddaughters; Dr. Dara Ann Williams Coggins of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Dena Lyn Decker of Murphreesboro, TN. and siblings; Emaline (Jack) Core of Kossuth; Don Graessle and Caroleen (John) Moorman, both of Spencerville and his brother-in-law; Maurice Hager of Spencerville and sister-in-law; Betty (Dean) Place of Wapakoneta.

Preceding him in death was his step-daughter; Joyce Ann Coffman and siblings; Louise Gould; Gail and Pauline Graessle; Mary Sarka Klausing; Waneta "Sweetie" Holtzhauer Hager and Susan Leffel.

Ed was a 1943 graduate of Spencerville High School and was a gasoline truck driver for the Sohio Refinery from 1955 until retirement in 1986. He farmed until he was 75.

He was a life member of the Kossuth-Zion United Methodist Church and was a member of the Spencerville Invincible Fire Company for many years and had been a member of Lima Elks Lodge #54

Memorial services will be 11 AM Saturday, March 24, 2018 in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, with Rev. David W. Howell officiating. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery, East of Spencerville.

The family will receive friends after 10 AM March 24th at the funeral home.
