DAVID OLDS

SPENCERVILLE — David R. "Dave" Olds, 67, of Spencerville, died 8:10 a.m., Sat. June 18, 2016, at his home near Spencerville.

He was born Sept. 22, 1948, in Blytheville, AR, the son of Elvis & Thelma (Fite) Olds. His mother, Thelma Foshee survives in Rappahannock, VA. His father and step-father, J.D. Hicks are deceased. On June 14, 1969, he married Nancy D. Hall, and she survives.

Other survivors include, 3 children, Angela (Gregory) Rafuse, Immenreuth, Germany, Douglas (Christy) Olds, Lima, Crystal Shields, Spencerville, 6 grandchildren, Brandon Shields, Tyler Shields, Brady Courtney, Lauren Shields, Olivia Olds, & Douglas Olds, Jr., 3 sisters, Wanda (Joe) Ivey, Blytheville, AR, Debbie (Alan) Banks. Yazoo City, MS, April Narron, Rappahannock, VA.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Benjamin Hicks.

Dave worked at General Dynamics, Lima. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam. His memberships included the Bowersock Bros., V.F.W. Post #6772, and the American Legion Post #191, both of Spencerville. He enjoyed bowling, and did upholstery work. Dave was a "Jack of All Trades" and could fix anything except the crack of dawn and a broken heart.

Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m., Wed. June 22, 2016, at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, with Pastor Andrew Atkins officiating.

The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m., Wed. at the funeral home. Military rites will be conducted by the Spencerville Veterans at the funeral home following the service.
