DENNIS TAYLOR
SPENCERVILLE — Dennis L. "Denny" Taylor, 73, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at St. Rita"s Medical Center.
He was born June 17, 1943 in Lima, a son of Edward Joseph and Francess LaVonne Erskine Taylor, who are deceased. He married Nancy L. King June 20, 1965, who survives.
Denny served four years in the U. S. Marines during Vietnam. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Marines never left him as friends and family will attest. Denny worked at Teledyne Ohio Steel until it closed in the '80s and then worked as a technical consultant for Cates, Inc., until he retired in 2008.
Denny's talents were many. He was an extremely accomplished computer programmer, collector of movies, a huge John Wayne and loyal Cleveland Browns fan. He could take apart and fix anything. He enjoyed traveling with his wife all over the United States. He loved his dog's Scooter and Duffy.
His family would like to express their thanks for all of the prayers during Denny's final days.
Denny will be missed dearly by his wife of 51 years, his three daughters; Michele (Dale ) Fischer; Jacki (Allen) Maidon and Stephanie Taylor; his seven grandchildren; Katelan and Dakota Fischer; Gage (Christina) and Breckein Maidon, Derek Wiles and Jarod and Joshua Taylor; his four great grandchildren; Katlyn, Miah and Dylan Binkley and Kaiden Schimmoller; his three sisters; Laleen Engle, Francess (George) Combs and Susan (Eddie) Bowman; and his two brothers; Edward (Linda) Taylor and John (Marilyn) Schouten.
At Denny's request, he has been cremated and wanted a "Celebration of Life", which will be held at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville from 2 until 4 PM Saturday, December 3, 2016, with Military Honors to follow by the U.S. Marines and the Spencerville Veterans.
