TIFFIN — Derrick A. Brooks, 35, of Tiffin and formerly of Delphos, passed away at 7:51 PM Monday, August 6, 2018 in the Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima following a short illness.

He was born August 28, 1982 in Lima, a son of Dale A. Brooks of Delphos and Rhonda Jo Barker Youngpeter of Spencerville. Also surviving is his step-mother Candy Brooks and his step-father David L. Youngpeter. His significant other, Roxanne Martin survives in Tiffin.

Also surviving are his brother; David Brooks and his nephews; Johnathan and Cole Brooks of Delphos; his sister-in-law; Misty Holdgreve of Delphos and his grandparents; Roger and Joann Barker, his aunt Greta (Dave) Wagner and uncle Roger (Tina) Barker, all of Defiance.

Preceding him in death are his brother Alan and his grandparents, Ray and Norma Brooks.

Derrick worked as a C. and C. operator at the Atlas Mfg. Company in Tiffin and formerly had worked in construction with the Will Construction Company in Delphos. He especially enjoyed being with his nephews and kids and his cat and dog.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Friday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Father Dennis Walsh officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Landeck.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 PM Thursday in the funeral home.
