DEWEY HURST
SPENCERVILLE — Dewey C. Hurst, 69, of rural Spencerville, died 2:25 a.m. Monday April 26th at his residence with his family at his side following a short illness.
He was born September 23, 1946 in Bonny Blue, VA., a son of John H. and Cleo Hubbs Hurst who are deceased. On December 12, 1964 he married Ruth Hawkins who survives along with 2 children Deborah (Kevin) Schwartz and Durik (Melinda) Hurst both of Spencerville. Five grandchildren April(Mark) Evans of Spencerville; Austin (Jenaye) Schwartz of Wapakoneta; Dalton Hurst, Colton Hurst, Delaney Hurst all of Spencerville and a great granddaughter Emma Evans. Two siblings Charlotte (Merlin) Masters and Wanda Lake both of Lima and a brother in law Truman Partin of Middlesboro, Kentucky. Two sisters in law Nora Hurst of Fort Wayne and Sharon Hurst of Lima.
Preceding in death are three brothers, Onder (Helen) Hurst and Toy Hurst and Jerry Hurst and two sisters; Joyce Partin and Hazel (George) Nash and brother in law; Chalmer Lake.
Dewey was a retired truck driver with 37 years service, lastly working for the ABF Trucking Company. He was a 37 year member of the Teamsters Local 908. His hobbies were his Harley Cycle, hunting and fishing.
Funeral services will be 10 AM Saturday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Pastor Jim Fletcher officiating with burial to follow in the Lima Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2/4 and 6/8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
