Spencerville; Donna June Rempfer, 85, of Spencerville, passed away peacefully at 6:03 PM Thursday, March 8, 2018 in the Roselawn Manor Nursing Home in Spencerville with her children at her side.
She was born June 25, 1932 in Spencerville, a daughter of the late Robert William and Marintha Alinda Roberts Shepler. On September 30, 1950 she married Roland Perry Rempfer, who died June 13, 2015.
Surviving are her four children; Donna (David) Holtzhauer, Vonda (Chuck) Frances and William "Ben" (Teresa) Rempfer, all of Spencerville and Clifford (Connie) Rempfer of Mendon; grandchildren; Adam Rempfer of Lima; Sherry (John) Gardner of Hilliard; Andrea (Eric) Kill and Jeffery (Miranda) Holtzhauer, both of Spencerville; Michael (Taylor) Rempfer of St. Marys; Morgan Rempfer of Mendon
and Louis Frances of Shelby Twp., MI.; great grandchildren; Chase Rempfer; Olivia, Cooper and Gabriella Gardner; Trevor, Jamie and Audrey Kill and Tucker Rempfer; siblings; Mary Kenyon of PA.; Robert (Arlene) Shepler and Lenore (David) Reiter, both of Mt. Cory and " Special Family Friend" Cheryl McClintock Osting of Delphos.
Preceding her in death are her siblings; Charles (Augusta) Shepler; Carl "Whitey" (Doris) Shepler and Leona (Carl) Morris and her brother-in-law; Willard Kenyon.
Donna was a 1950 graduate of Spencerville High School. She was a homemaker and had been a cook several years at the Spencerville Schools and had worked at the diet workshop in Lima.
She was a member of the Kossuth- Zion United Methodist Church and a former member of the Hartford Christian Church. Her true love in life was her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, quilting and reading.
The family would like to especially say "Thanks" to the Roselawn Manor and Interim Hospice employees for her very fine care.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Monday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, with Rev. David W. Howell officiating. Burial will follow in the Spenceville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Kossuth-Zion Church, Roselawn Manor Activity Fund or to Interim Hospice.
