Donna Jean Rupert, 94, of Spencerville, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026 at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.

Donna was born on November 21, 1931 in Auglaize County to the late Chester and Beatrice "Bea" Lenore (Albrecht) Bowersock. In 1951, she graduated from Spencerville High School and on June 11, 1955, she was united in marriage to the late John D. Rupert. Donna and her husband built their home next to her parents and she was a homemaker in her own home as well as caring for her parents in their later years. After her husband passed in 1988, she was a caregiver for 4 years for the post family.

Donna loved her pets as she had both cats and dogs. She also enjoyed the peace and quiet of their home in the country, being in nature and tending to her garden.

Donna was survived by her four nephews, Paul Carnes of Spencerville, Clay Carnes of Lima, John (Carol) Carnes of Spencerville, and Wayne (Susan) Carnes of Indianapolis, IN; and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; and her sister, June (Mirth) Carnes.

There will be a graveside service held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Spencerville Cemetery with Pastor Andrew J. Atkins officiating. Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville is caring for Donna and her family.
