Spencerville; Donnie R. "Don" Miller, 71, of Toledo and formerly of Spencerville, died at 10:03 PM Thursday, January 27, 2022 in the Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg.
He was born June 24, 1950 in Celina, a son of the late Daniel R. and Bonnie M. Rhodes Miller, Sr. On August 8. 2009 he married Mary Jane Huguelet, who survives, along with six children; Danielle(Derek) Hunter, Darlene (Jeromy) Wren, Dustin Miller, Dawn (Ryan) Sparks, Patrick (Alyssa) Murray and Ruth (Ryan) Hellman.
Also surviving are 16 grandchildren; Makayla (Levi) Miller, Brooke Reese, Alex Hunter, Grace Hunter and Alana Hunter, Joel Wren, Kaylyn (Landon) Sopher, Jacob Wren and Bryce Wren, Adalynn Thom, Lucille Murray, Penelope Murray, Aubrey Hummel, Reagan Henzler, Rilea Przybysz and Rhealynn Przybysz, great grandchildren Mallory and Braxton Sopher, his brother Duane Miller and sister-in-law Sharon Miller, mother-in-law Anthonette Huguelet, brothers-in-law Frank (Joan) Huguelet, Dennis (Kay) Huguetet and Paul (Cathy) Huguelet and very special uncle, Ron (Earlene) Rhodes.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Daniel and Darryl Miller, sister Winona Miller and father-in-law Emory Huguelet.
Don was a graduate of Spencerville High School, Class of 1968, and then served in U.S. Air Force from 1968 until 1972 in the Vietnam War. From there he became a Journeyman Machine Repairman, retiring from the Chrysler Corporation's Toledo Machining Plant.
Above all, he loved being with his grandchildren, playing pool, cars and his favorite 1956 Chevy Champagne color show car, building and drag racing his VW Hot Rods and hunting. He was a life member of the Bowersock Brothers VFW Post 6772 in Spencerville.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, with Pastor Ted Bible officiating. Military rites will be conducted following the services with the Air Force Honor Guard and the Spencerville Veterans. Burial will be at a later date in the Mendon Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 PM Tuesday and after 10 AM Wednesday in the funeral home.
