Dorothy May (Baer) Imler, age 95, of Amity AR, formerly of Spencerville, died peacefully in her home on December 20, 2021, with family at her side.  She was born March 25, 1926, in rural Van Wert County, the daughter of Lester Baer and Mary (Simindinger) Baer.  She was the first child followed by her brother Ervin.   Her family moved to rural Spencerville in 1940.  She attended Spencerville School four years, graduating in 1944.  She resumed her friendship with Lester (Pete) Imler following his return from the war and they later married June 7, 1947.  That happy union brought two sons; Terry and Toby.

Dorothy was a lifetime homemaker, known by family and friends as a wonderful gardener, cook, and an always at home mom. She loved her flower gardens, canning from her vegetable garden, and caring for her family.  From the age of 21, she was a member Seventh-day Adventist Church starting in Elgin and later in Lima until her death.  She moved to Arkansas in 2006 after Pete's death on June 3, 2003.

She was preceded in death by her brother Ervin, Sister-in-law Annabelle Baer, Brother and Sister-in-laws Homer and Nellie (Imler) Bell, Cole and Ardeen Imler, Joe and Peggy (Imler) Rapp.

Dorothy is survived by sons Terry (Robin) Imler of Blueridge GA and Toby (Nyla) Imler of Amity AR; 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville.  Services will be at 11 AM  Friday, January 7, 2022 in the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 10 AM until service time. The Family requests in leu of flowers, memorial gifts sent to Adventist World Radio; Silver Springs, MD.
