Earl A. Comer died on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Shawnee Manor following an extended illness.

He was born on December 14, 1950 to Allen Comer and Creta (Koenig) Comer Mueller. Earl's love of cars led him to a career in the automotive industry. Earl began his career at Timmerman Ford before working at Grand Lake Ford. He eventually began working at Comer and Culp High Performance Engines before beginning his teaching career at UNOH.

He is survived by sisters Karen (John) Swickrath, Diane Merricle and Darlene Comer all of Spencerville. Brother Don Comer of Lima, OH. He is also survived by niece and nephews Bethany (Rocky) Bennett, Brad (Tayler) Swickrath, Allen (LeeAnn) Merricle and Todd Merricle of Spencerville, OH, John (Mindy) Swickrath of Union, KY and Aaron (Haili) Comer of Lima, OH. He is survived by great nieces and nephews Donovan Bennett, Raven (Devin) Bender of Holland, OH, Chloe and Brynn Swickrath of Union, KY, Lucas Merricle, Charlotte and Sophia Merricle, Beau and Rylynn Swickrath all of Spencerville, OH and Evelyn and Madelyn Comer of Lima, OH. Also survived by great-great niece and nephews Aspen, August and Oliver Bender of Holland, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Donald (Abe) Mueller, brother-in-law Fred Merricle and sister Kathy Comer.

A party to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Northwest Ohio Field and Stream. Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville is caring for Earl and his family.
