Edward D. Ball, 82, formerly of Spencerville, OH passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.

Edward was born on August 12, 1940 in Putnam County to the late Alva Anthony and Marcine Jenny (Urich) Ball. He grew up around Spencerville and graduated from Spencerville High School in 1959. A few years after graduating, Ed began his career working in the laundry department for Grandview Hospital from 1964 to 1983. Not long after working at Grandview Hospital, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Patricia A. Ulmer, on February 19, 1994. With his marriage to Pat, Ed's family was immediately expanded with her two children that he cared for and loved like they were his own.

Ed was a long time member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #370 and took pleasure in woodworking. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Edward is survived by his wife, Pat; two children, Trish Butler of Xenia and David (Misty) Arnold of Rogersville, TN; seven grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and sister, Helen Glasco-Martin of Spencerville. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lena Baumann; and brother-in-law, Bob Martin.

There will be a private family graveside service held at a later date at Spencerville Cemetery. Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville are caring for Edward and his family.
