Obituary

Spencerville;        Elisabeth Ann Huber, 87, of Spencerville, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima surrounded by her loving family.

Ann was born on October 7, 1935 in Bedford, England to the late John William and Mary Molly (Line) Gayton. She grew up in a beautiful little village called Harrold in Bedfordshire. She caught the eye of an American boy, whom she met while he was serving in the United States Air Force stationed at Chicksands Priory, Shefford, England. She came to this country in 1955 and became a U.S. citizen.

On September 5, 1955, she married Merlin Jack Huber of Spencerville, Ohio. They made their lifelong home in Spencerville and were married for 60 years. She enjoyed spending time with her four grandsons and rarely missed any of their sporting events while in school. She was their greatest sports fan. Springtime was her favorite season because she knew she would be able to spend endless hours in the yard working on her flower beds. Her yard was her pride and joy. It was her own personal English garden. She especially enjoyed being a member of the Spencerville Garden Club. She was an avid reader and loved checking out books at the local library. She loved her British heritage and would always remind you where she came from.

Ann is survived by a son, Nicholas (Leslie) Huber of Lima, Ohio and twin daughters Laura (Michael) Youngpeter of Spencerville, Ohio and Lisa Crites of Lima, Ohio.

She has four grandsons, Trevor Crites of Etna, Ohio, Evan Crites of Minster, Ohio and Matthew and Mitchell Youngpeter of Columbus, Ohio.
