Spencerville;         Eugene Clayton Davis, 82, of Columbus, formerly of Spencerville passed away at 6:30 a.m. on Monday, March 25, 2024 at Columbus Colony Nursing Home in Columbus, OH.

Clayton was born on July 28, 1941 in Delphos to the late Clayton and Eve Mae (Osenbaugh) Davis. He grew up around the Delphos area and started his career at the Gressel Co. and then worked at Lakeview Farms until his retirement.

Aside from enjoying the time he spent with his family, Clayton loved fishing, collecting stamps, coins, electronic vintage trains, and was a member of the American Bowling Association as a bowler.

He is survived by his four children, Michael Scott Davis of Delphos. Daniel Dean Davis of Delphos, Ray Eugene Davis of Findlay, and Johnny Lee Davis of Mansfield; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and three siblings, Ruth Davis of Ft. Wayne, IN, Miriam Davis of Spencerville, and Phil (Audrey) Davis of Delphos. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brother, Joseph Davis, John Davis, Carl Davis, James Davis and one sister, Naomi Davis.

There will be a visitation from 9:00-11:00 a.m. followed by his funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with pastor Andrew J. Atkins officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Spencerville Cemetery. Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville is caring for Clayton and his family.
