FERN ROCKHOLD

SPENCERVILLE — Fern E. Rockhold, 93, formerly of Spencerville, passed away at 10:30 PM Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Joshua Tree Care Center in North Olmsted, Ohio, near her sons' home.

She was born August 21, 1923 near Monticello in Van Wert County, a daughter of Charles and Tina Becker Boroff, who are deceased.

Fern was a graduate of Keystone High School in Michigan and during WW II she worked at the Lima Tank Plant as a forklift operator and worked many years as a meat cutter at the Spencerville IGA.

For many years she was a very active member of the Spencerville United Church of Christ with its Sunday School, Women Fellowship, Official Board, and was a leader for its" Special Ministry" at the Lima State Hospital.

Survivors include her son; Vaughn E. (Leslie R.) Rockhold of Olmsted Twp., Ohio and her step-daughter Rebecca "Becky" (Tom) Kellermeyer of St. Marys; Grandchildren; Ashley R. (Erik) Trentrock of Pittsburgh; Adam V. (Hilary) Rockhold of Avon Lake; Justin V. Rockhold of Charlotte, N. C.; step-grandchildren; Scott (Laurie) Dawson of Delphos; Daniel Dawson and Chad Dawson, both of St. Marys; and her siblings; Annabelle "Ann" Baer of Spencerville and Junior (Mary) Boroff of Mendon; and 11 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 6 siblings; Carl O.Boroff, Mary C. Boroff, Kenneth C. (Mildred) Boroff Marcelle Boroff, Pauline (Warren) Stultz and Betty M. (Dale) Ketteman and her brother-in-law; Ervin Baer.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Pastor Michael R. Cassady officiating. Burial will follow in the New Salem Cemetery, South of Monticello.

Friends may call from Noon until 2 PM Monday at the funeral home.
