Franklin J. Lenhart, 86, of Spencerville passed away peacefully at 2:02 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Roselawn Manor in Spencerville surrounded by his family.

Franklin was born on January 18, 1937 in Auglaize county to the late Albert Joseph and Rose Mary (Brown) Lenhart. He attended Wapakoneta Public School up through the 11 ^th grade before enlisting in the United States Navy. Frank was united in marriage on October 3, 1959 to Helen McDonough at St. Patricks Catholic Church. They made their home in Spencerville where they raised their 4 children. Franklin started his life long career with the city of Spencerville in 1968 and retiring as the Village Administrator in 1990.

Alongside being employed by the city, Frank was very involved in his community as a volunteer fireman with the Spencerville Invincible Fire Department and coaching little league baseball. He loved to go fishing and enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds baseball games.

Franklin is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen; four children, Tina (Randy) Burd of Celina, Cheri (Darrell) Parks of Hendersonville, TN, Patti (Doug) Fleck of Spencerville, and Barb (Dave) Cira of Lima; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Karen (Ken) Shafer of Spencerville and Betty Bland of Alabama; and eight in-laws, Marilyn Lenhart of Spencerville, Jim McDonough of Rockford, William McDonough of Delphos, Charles McDonough of Delphos, Sarah (Don) Bauldauf of Delphos, Elaine (Mike) Schimmoeller of Delphos, Susan (Jim) Powell of Lima and Maureen (Dave) Wright of Canton. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Gene, sister, Margaret and infant siblings, Paul, Martha and Mary.

There will be a visitation from 11:00-1:00 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 2023 at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Spencerville. Burial will take place following the service at Spencerville Cemetery.
