GENE CONNER
SPENCERVILLE — Gene L. Conner, 61, of rural Spencerville, died 12:59 p.m., Mon. April 27, 2015, at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born March 28, 1954, in Lima, the son of Virgil L. & Marilyn (Davis) Conner. His mother survives in Lima, and his father is deceased. On Nov. 27, 2013, he married Paula L. Adams, and she survives.
Others survivors include, 6 children, Dawn Marie (Roger) Justice, Jeffersonville, IN, Danielle Lee Conner, Lima, Linda Ann (Greg) Corbitt, Waterville, OH, Stacey Lynn Vanraemdonck, Milligan, MI, Mercedes Arnett, Crooksville, TN, Grace McPeeks, Sidney, OH, grandchildren, Kaitlyn & Matthew Justice, Scott & Richard Mort, Brent & Ashton Conner, Jayden, Briana, Giorgiana, & Maisilyn Corbitt, brothers, Dave (Cindy) Rodney, & Dave (Therese) Kill.
Gene worked 20 years at DTR Industries, Bluffton, OH. A 1972 graduate of Elida High School, Gene served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1972-1974 in Vietnam. He was a member of the North American Hunting Club. His hobbies included spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, riding his Harley, gardening, and rock climbing and repelling.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wed. April 29, 2015, at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, with Pastor David Howell officiating. Burial is to follow in the Spencerville Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by the Spencerville Veterans.
The family will receive friends 3-8 p.m., Tues., and 1 hr. prior to the service, Wed. at the funeral home.
