Spencerville; Gregory Allan Wells, 73, of Spencerville, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
Greg was born on July 14, 1950, in Saginaw, MI to the late Paul Raymond Wells and Helen Elizabeth Rogalski. He grew up and attended Saginaw High School in Saginaw, Michigan. After high school, Greg joined the United States Marines and was honorably discharged on January 14, 1975. After his military discharge, he began working for General Motors in Saginaw and was transferred to Defiance, Ohio in 1984 and he worked there until his retirement. On August 16, 2011, he was united in marriage to Maureen Ann Hirn.
Gregory was a member of the VFW Post #6772 and American Legion Post #191 in Spencerville. He was very passionate about computers and enjoyed working on them. He truly loved fishing and if you asked him, he didn't get to go fishing enough.
Greg is survived by his wife, Maureen of Spencerville; two children, Angie (Jamie) Bruinooge of Fenwick, MI and Christina Moore of Cedar Lake, MI; three step-children, Steve Bienz of Minnesota, Ellen (Brent) Crawford of Lima and Sherry Laughry of Spencerville; five grandchildren, Jasmine (Anthony Munson) Bruinooge, Haylee Bruinooge, Jacob Bruinooge, Stephanie (Brennan) DeRaad and Alexis (Jon) Massengill; three step grandchildren, Steven James Bienz, Joshua Taylor, and Tyler Hicks; seven great grandchildren, Parker, Marianna, Michael, Ayden, Cullen, JJ, and Vanessa; one step great grandchild, Milo Hicks; two siblings, Ronald (Karen) Karp of Saginaw, MI and Robert Lintz of Saginaw, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, two siblings, Michael Lintz and Randy Karp and one great granddaughter Paisley Massengill.
Please join us in celebrating Greg's life on January 27th 2024 from 1-3 pm at The Sheridan VFW Post, 209 Washington St. Sheridan, MI 48884. Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville is caring for Greg and his family.
