A graduate from Bath High School, Greg attended Ohio State University for his Bachelor's in Science and Bluffton College for his Master's degree of Education. Greg was a beloved teacher for over 44 years and also a Renaissance man, serving many roles in the school, the community, and his church. Greg was a painter, a builder, a Bible teacher, and a longtime member of the town council. He was an eternal optimist. He called himself a plugger, a common man, and was proud of this. He never knew a stranger, cherishing the commonality of all people. He loved his family fiercely. Greg was a teacher and a student to the last.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 19th, from 4-8pm at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home 728 E. 4th St., Spencerville, OH 45887. Funeral rites will be held at 2pm on Sunday, February 20th at the Church of the Nazarene, 317 W North St., Spencerville, OH 45887. Darryl Potts will be officiating.
