Harold W. “Bill” Fast, 83, of Spencerville, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

Harold was born on June 18, 1943 in Spencerville to the late Harold L. and Martha H. (Slentz) Fast. Bill graduated from Spencerville High School in 1961. While at Spencerville, he was a three-sport athlete, a standout pitcher. He was also on the 1959 state runner-up baseball team and a professional prospect. On May 12, 1963, he married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Linda Ewing.

Bill worked for the Ford Motor Company for 34 years until his retirement. While working at Ford, he attended Rhema Bible College. Bill graduated from the Bible College in 1984 and his remained an ordained minister ever since. He was a long-time member of Only Believe Ministries in Botkins.

After his retirement, he worked security at General Dynamics Tank Plant and drove bus. Bill drove bus for Buckeye Chart for 15 years. He loved taking the UNOH Racer athletes to their events, men & women basketball, baseball/softball, and women soccer.

Bill is survived by his three children, Chris Fast of Spencerville, Chad Fast of Shawnee, Corey (Nicole Cook) Fast of Spencerville; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren with his tenth on the way. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda; and two brothers, Robert and Earl Fast.

There will be a visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026 at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville. His visitation will continue from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by his funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at the funeral home. Burial will take place following the service at Spencerville Cemetery. Thoms E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville is caring for Bill and his family.

Everyone in attendance of the visitation and funeral are asked to wear their favorite baseball team gear like Bill will to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Spencerville High School Baseball Team.
