SPENCERVILLE — Helen Joyce "Sunshine" Briggs died Thursday February 4th,2021 at 1:05am at St Ritas Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.

She was born March 5, 1936 in Hume, Ohio to Adelbert Clyde "Kelly" and Wandah Jane Wooddell Thompson. They preceded her in death. She was a 1954 graduate of Shawnee High School. On May 28,1955 she married Raymond Max Briggs of Spencerville.

She worked at Hume Farm Supply for Odos & C.C. Craig and at Tri-County Imp. for Ned Smith and Noah Miller. She was a secretary and bookkeeper. She attended the Mt. Union U.B. Church at the corner of DeepCut & Briggs since 1955. She had been secretary, assistant secretary, assistant chorister & the assistant Adult Teacher at the church.

She loved her God, family, friends, crafts, good books and writing religious poetry.

Survivors include: Ray (husband); one son, David Alan Briggs (Conrad Portillo) of Trabuco Canyon, CA.; Paula J. Briggs (daughter) Lima,

Ohio; Rae Adele (Darryl) Hinkle (daughter) Spencerville, Ohio. Four grandchildren: Zacharias (Michelle Slaven) Bailey of Spencerville, Ohio; Micah Bailey of Springfield, Ohio; Michele Bailey of Vermilion, Ohio; and Jennifer (Don) Lefik of Spencerville, Ohio. Eight great grandchildren: DJ Slaven, Wesley Slaven, Raelynn Bailey, Aleighna Bailey, Daniel Lefik, Gabriel Lefik, Michael Lefik, and Samuel Lefik all of Spencerville, Ohio.

Services will be held at 1:30pm on February 13, 2021 at Thomas Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, Ohio.

Visitation is from 11:30am to 1:30pm on February 13, 2021.

Family and friends are welcome, but masks will be required.
