HELEN KIRKHOFF
SPENCERVILLE — Helen Mae Kirkhoff, 84, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, at home surrounded by her family.
She was born Sept. 9, 1931, at home in Glenwood, the daughter of Howard E. and Sylvia Mae Daniels, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 7, 1953, she married Wayne L. Kirkhoff.
Helen graduated from Buckland and was drum majorette. She loved her family deeply and they loved her deeply. She enjoyed cooking for her family, friends and neighbors. Helen was loving and gave to anyone in need. She was a bowler, coaching her grandchildren and hundreds of other children. She enjoyed yard work, crafts, casinos and traveling in their motor home. She worked as a waitress, a nurse's aid and as a Mary Kay consultant. She was honored in the National Court of Sales.
Surviving are four children, Angelia (Robert) Kuhn, of Shawnee, Nancy (Andrew) Gabel, of Spencerville, Peggy (Tim) Wood, of Bath, and Robin (Christopher) Rex, of Shawnee; grandchildren Jennifer (Jill) Kuhn, Justin (Steffanie Mason) Walker, Joel (Kristie Sibold) Walker, Maranda Gabel, Marina (Joel) Finn, Howard (Maria) Cook, Hollie (Gary) Oakes, Brent Cook, Sommer (Adam) Stewart, Christopher Rex, Ryan (Misty Kohli) Kirkhoff, Samantha (Robert Simard) Rex, and Michael Wayne (Trudie) Kirkhoff; great-grandchildren Katlyn Binkley, Miah Binkley, Dylan Wayne Binkley, Jace Kuhn, Alexandria Kuhn, Jaxyn Kuhn, Caylib Mason, Carmean Mason, Keaton Walker, Coby Walker, Delanie Gabel, Colton Gabel, Grayson Finn, Arianna Finn, Ethan Finn, Conner Finn, Leah Cook, Nelaya Burden, Briley Cook, and Seth Kirkhoff; a sister, Betty (Ron) Gaskill; a brother, Vernon Daniels; a brother-in-law, Paul (Joan) Kirkhoff, of Lima; and three sisters-in-law, Linda (Jerry) Edmunds, Doreen Smith, and Deb Dehner;
Preceding her in death were a son, Michael Wayne Kirkhoff; a grandson, Jason Michael Binkley; two great-grandchildren, Ximena Cook and Alexander Cook; five brothers, Harold (Margret) Daniels, Virgil (Izzy) Daniels, Jimmy Daniels, Alfred (Rosie) Daniels, Jess (May) Daniels; a sister, Hazel (Glen) Young; and in-laws Robert Smith and Joan Daniels.
Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, with the Rev. Joe Heeter officiating. Entombment will follow at Lima Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
