Helen, age 88, departed this earthly realm to join her Savior and rejoin her loving husband, Bill, on February 8, 2022, at 7:15 PM. She was grateful to be cared for in her home with her husband of almost 67 years, married May 15, 1955, who preceded her in death on February 1, 2022.
Helen was born July 13, 1933, on her family's farm in Delphos, Ohio, the youngest child of Floyd William Adam and Millie Ann Adam (Miller). Her older siblings were Brent (Mary), Harold (Mary), Idella, Erwin (Dorothy Adam Dingledine, surviving) and Rowena (Dale Pulfer). Helen's parents, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, Eileen (Melvin, surviving) Werling and siblings along with son-in-love, Brian, welcomed her to their heavenly reunion.
Helen and Bill raised their five children in Lima, Ohio: Dennis Gene Louth, Lima, Susan Elaine (David R. May) Spencerville, Diana Fay (Brian Pretorius) Franklin, Ohio, widowed, then wed to (James H. Smith, Jr.), Haines City, Florida and twins, Ian John William, Elida and Joan Helen Louth, The Villages, Florida.
Grandma Helen's pride and joys were her grandchildren! Ross W. May, Framingham, MA, Rachael (Corey) Klima, Las Vegas, NV, James David Pretorius (Vrinda Shah), Melbourne, FL, Michael Walker Pretorius (Amanda Jack), Hermitage, TN, Emily Rose Pretorius (Jonathan Jahn), Nashville, TN, Thomas Douglas Pretorius, Altamonte Springs, FL, Jeremy James Smith (Roma Bellena), Melbourne, FL, and Chelsea Marie Smith, Lake Wales, FL.
A service honoring the life of Helen L. Louth will be held at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, 728 E. Fourth St. (State Route 117 East), Spencerville, OH, February 12, 2022, at 3:00 PM. The officiant will be Pastor Tom Cooper of Faith Baptist Church. The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home for both William B. and Helen L. Louth on Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 11:00 PM- 3:00 PM. Graveside service immediately following at Allentown Cemetery.
Helen prepared numerous delicious meals, baked beautiful birthday and anniversary cakes for friends and family over the years. She enjoyed arranging flowers, creating crafts, knitting, and crocheting. As her children became more independent, Helen did childcare in the home then worked at Rager's Butcher Shop, Mello-Crème Donuts, and retired Kirlin's Hallmark. As a member of Lima Baptist Temple, Helen was also a member of Master Builders Sunday School Class and Ladies Missionary Fellowship. In her golden years, Helen's 15-year companion was her beloved dog, Annie. Helen adopted Annie through Angels for Animals. Suggested memorial donations to Angels for Animals Rescue League in Elida, Ohio.
