HELEN WELLS
LIMA — Helen E. Wells, 100, of Lima, died 10:45 a.m., Wed. June 21, 2017, at Roselawn Manor, Spencerville, OH. She was born March 17, 1917, in Emory, VA, the daughter of John F. & Emma B. (Lester) Riffey, who preceded her in death. On Aug. 17, 1935, she married Stokes Wells, and he died Aug. 28, 1993.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Dorothy (Cecil) Hendrickson, Waynesfield, OH, Linda Sue Wells Wood, Lima, a son-in-law, Jim Swenson, TN, 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 2 step-great grandchildren, and 16 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kitty Lou Wells Swenson, and 9 brothers & sisters.
Helen retired as supervisor of housekeeping at Lima Memorial Hospital, after 30 years of service. She attended the former Liberty Temple, Lima. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and reading the newspaper.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Mon. June 26, 2017, at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, with Pastor Terry Brock officiating. Burial is to follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service, Mon. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Activity Fund at Roselawn Manor.
