JACK REED
LIMA — Jack C. Reed, 87, died at 5:30 a.m. May 3, 2015, at his residence, with his family by his side, following an extended illness.
He was born Dec. 19, 1927, in Spencerville, to Morris A. and Ava F. Graham Reed, who preceded him in death. On Oct. 16, 1949, he married Martha Ann Craft, who died June 23, 2013.
Mr. Reed was a 1948 graduate of Spencerville High School. He had been a factory worker and retired as the head painter for Ohio Northern University's maintenance department after more than 23 years of service. He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Lima where he had served as an usher.
Survivors include five children, Theresa L. Reed, of Lima, Deborah A. Foster, of Wapakoneta, Ava C. (Jon) Garver, of Columbus, Lisa A. (Dale) Bendele, of Ottoville, and Joshua H. (Tanika) Reed, of Lima; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry "Buck" Reed, of Lima; and a sister-in-law, Ethel Tone, of Vandalia, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne Tone and William "Bill" (Janice) Reed.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Rose Catholic Church. The Rev. David M. Ross will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery in Lima.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
