JAMES MILLER
SPENCERVILLE — James F. "Jim" Miller, 81, died the morning of Feb. 10, 2016, at his residence following a sudden illness.
He was born June 25, 1934, in Landeck, to Eugene Peter and Cathern Mary Perrin Miller, who preceded him in death. On Oct. 27, 1953, he married Esther Mary Schnipke, who died Sept. 30, 2015.
Mr. Miller was a 1952 graduate of Spencerville High School. He was a lifelong farmer and certified welder at Fruehauf Co., Delphos, retiring after 37 years. He was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Landeck, and St. Patrick Catholic Church, Spencerville. He had helped build St. Patrick Catholic Church while he was in high school in 1952. He was a member of the Delphos Eagles Lodge.
Survivors include five children, Anthony (Pamela) Miller, of Coldwater, Michigan, Jerome (Patrica) Miller, of Columbus, Indiana, Steven (Laura) Miller, of Elida, Diane Moorman, of Elida, and Julia Wireman, of Spencerville; 11 grandchildren, David (Jennifer) Miller, of Livonia, Michigan, Brian (Amanda) Miller, of Coldwater, Michigan, Derek Miller, of Coldwater, Michigan, Lindsey (Brian) Emling, of Franklin, Indiana, Christopher Miller, of Columbus, Indiana, Craig Miller, of Indianapolis, Matthew (Amanda) Miller, of Spencerville, Scot (Kylie) Miller, of Spencerville, Heather (Thomas) Lammers, of Lewis Center, Adam Moorman, of Columbus, and Morgan Wireman, of Spencerville; three stepgrandchildren, Angela (Kiel) Dennison and Alecia (Ben) Mendes, both of Shawnee, and Andrea (Joey) Miller, of Cridersville; 13 greatgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister; Janet Klaus, of Landeck; two sisters-in-law, Beatrice (Joseph) Zuppardo and Mary Ann Hoehn, both of Lima; and a brother-in-law Richard (JoAnn) Schnipke, of Lima.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Eileen Lyle; and a brother-in-law, Tom Klaus.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Spencerville. Father Stephen J. Blum will officiate. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Landeck.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, where a rosary service will be held at 8 p.m.
