Obituary

James W. "Hanse" Schwinnen, 77, of Delphos (Landeck) passed away March 6th 2024 at Roselawn of Spencerville. James was born October 2, 1946 to Richard L.(deceased) and Ethel C. (Pohlman) Schwinnen who survives in Delphos (Landeck). After proudly serving as an Airman in the United States Airforce, Hanse joined the UAW and worked at Dana Corp. for 33 years.  Hanse met and married the love of his life, Rosemary E. (Hoffman) Schwinnen on November 1, 1969 who survives in Delphos (Landeck). Hanse and Rose or his "Bride" as he commonly referenced, built a beautiful and full life together and were blessed by the following children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren:

Children: Paula (Glen) Fischer of Fremont, IN; Kelly (Greg) Smith of Dumas, TX; Maureen (Dan) Teman of Delphos; and James (Kimberly) Schwinnen of Johnstown, OH.

Grandchildren: Dylan and Derek Fischer; Meagan Deitering-Brewer, Alysa Brown, Tyler Deitering; Kiersten and Logan Teman; James and Elijah Schwinnen.

Great-Grandchildren: Archer and Noah Fischer; Brynnlee Brewer, Asher Brown, Tyler and Julie are expecting a baby girl Clarke in July.

Hanse lived a life of laughter and socializing. He spent many of his years visiting Sugar Island for the famous fishing trips with the Kill tribe and other buddies. He was an avid Bow-Hunter and taught his kids the importance of catching the world's biggest carp at "Hanse's Hole". Hanse enjoyed his adult beverages at the Landeck Tavern, VFW in Delphos and American Legion of Spencerville just to name a few of his hot spots. The beer was cold, conversations were good, and "buying out the bowls" was always a risk he was willing to take. If you knew Hanse, chances are he had a nickname for you or a funny story he would tease you about. Hanse and Rose enjoyed their gambling trips with John and Sandy Schimmoeller. There is most likely a Blackjack game in Heaven as you are reading this.

Hanse also enjoyed sitting on the back porch watching the wildlife on his farm, listening to his Cleveland Browns or Indians (He never liked the new name, Guardians), playing ball with his Fur-Friend "Emma", or just having friends and family stop by to "Shoot the Bull". If you were lucky enough to know Hanse, you had a friend for life.

Visitation will be held at Thomas E.
