Jean Bell, 86, of Elida, formerly of Spencerville passed away peacefully, with family at her side at 2:06 am Thursday, April 4, 2024 at her residence.

She was born on April 8, 1937 in Lima, the daughter of Arthur and Maxine (Truesdale) Swickrath who both preceded her in death.  On June 24, 1953 she married William Bell, Jr. who preceded her in death.

Surviving are her daughters, Dona (Don) Kihara of Wapakoneta, and Lois (Pat) Wainscott of Elida.  Grandkids are:  Brian Wainscott, Darren (Gracyn) Wainscott, and Matt Watterson.  Great grandkids are:  Michael (Lezlye) Wainscott, Anna Wainscott, Lauren Wainscott, Ryland Wainscott, Owen Wainscott, Beau Wainscott, Lucy Wainscott, Collin (Abby Howard) Watterson, and Nolan Gillespie.  Great great grandkids are: Ezrah Howard and Riverton Howard.

Living siblings are John (Karen) Swickrath and Tom Swickrath.  Siblings who preceded her in death were Lester Swickrath, Beulah Graham, and Edward Swickrath.

She worked in the finals and anodized departments at Hayes-Albion/Trim Trends in Spencerville.  She and her husband enjoyed playing cards almost daily at the Kewpee West for several years with very special friends.

There will be a visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024  at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville. Visitation will continue from 12:00-1:00 p.m. with her funeral starting at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024 also at the funeral home with pastor Darryl Potts officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Spencerville Cemetery. Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville is caring for Jean and her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Spencerville Nazarene Church.
