On February 13, 2021, heaven gained an angel when our beloved mother, Jean MacDonald, passed away peacefully at St Rita's Medical Center in Lima, Ohio after an extended illness. Her emotional and physical strength was challenged in 2012 when against the odds, she survived pancreatic cancer. Throughout all of her physical battles, she will be remembered for her calm courage, positive outlook, and an unwavering will to live.

Beautiful inside and out, Jean was always there to listen and offer her understanding, kindness, and "words of wisdom" to all. She lived her best life as a devoted wife, mother, and Nana.

Jean was born on September 3, 1937, at her family home in Spencerville, Ohio to Arthur and Sylvia (Sutton) Place. She graduated in 1955 from Spencerville High School and went to work at Name Plate and Monogram where she met her husband of 60 years, Robert MacDonald, who preceded her in death in 2016. She continued her work offering accounting support for the family business throughout the majority of her life.

Her memory will remain forever with her children, Robert MacDonald, Jr., Scott (Jennifer) MacDonald, Melanie MacDonald-Parent (Bob), Melissa (Clarke) Prichard, Rachel (Paul) Bowers, her fifteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, extended family, and friends.

In lieu of flowers and donations, honor Jean's memory by spending time with loved ones as this was to her, life's most precious gift. As a precaution,   services are respectfully private due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Arrangements are being made by Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, Ohio.
