Jeffery Scott
Fitch
March 27, 1971 – February 8, 2026
Jeffery Scott Fitch, 54, of Delphos passed away on February 8 at 11:11 in the morning, surrounded by family.
Born on March 27, 1971 in Defiance, Ohio to Douglas Fitch and Cheryl (Amos) Gibson who preceded him in death. Jeff was a graduate of Allen Central High School in Eastern, KY in 1989 and attended Prestonsburg College. On November 16, 1991 he married the love of his life, Belinda Patton Fitch, and they shared over 34 wonderful years together. Belinda survives him in Delphos. In addition to his wife, Jeff is survived by his daughters: Greta (Connor Stechschulte) and Alaina as well as siblings, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jeff has had many jobs in his lifetime because he was a "jack of all trades." He spent most of his career working in maintenance at Charles River Laboratories in Spencerville. Jeff had the gift of "wheeling and dealing" whether it was cars, guns, or any knick knacks he could find, one of the many ways he provided for his family. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and the VFW of Delphos.
Most importantly, Jeff loved spending time with his family. He would do anything for his children. He was never afraid to speak his mind. Jeff was a strong guy. He had been battling his own health issues for many years, but he never lost his unwavering courage and bravery. Jeff's strong spirit and love will be deeply missed.
Jeff was a devoted husband, father, and friend. To know Jeff was to love him. He didn't know a stranger. He was the first to give his help for anyone in need. His presence brought joy, laughter, and guidance to many and he will be deeply missed.
A celebration of life will be held on February 21st from 2-6pm with a service at 3 at the VFW in Delphos. An opportunity to honor Jeff and cherish all the memories he left us with. Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville is caring for Jeff and his family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Lifeline of Ohio. Because of Organ Donation, Jeff was able to enjoy 4 more years of life with his family and friends. Ultimately Jeff succumbed to leukemia after just 3 short weeks of the diagnosis.
