Jennifer Kay
Gaberdiel
September 10, 1978 – August 27, 2023
Spencerville; Jennifer Kay Gaberdiel, 44, of Spencerville, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.
Jennifer was born on September 10, 1978, at St. Rita's Hospital in Lima to Gary Vernon Hoffer and Rebecca Kay (Fishbaugh) Greber. She attended school in Spencerville and later acquired her GED. Because of her passion to care for others, she attended Apollo Career and became certified as an STNA. After finishing her classes at Apollo, she took employment with Divine Home Health Care. Jenny took a lot of pride in her work and truly loved her job. On September 28, 2014, she was united in marriage to Stanley Ryan Gaberdiel.
Although she was very passionate about her job, Jenny's greatest love was spending time with her kids and family, especially her regular walks with Stan and the kids. She had the biggest heart, always checking on somebody to make sure they were okay and wouldn't hesitate to put aside her own needs to help someone else. Jennifer also enjoyed crafting, reading, spending time outdoors, gardening, and traveling. A couple of her favorite places to visit was Florida and the Gulf of Mexico.
December 18 was a very proud and special day for Jennifer. Because of her Crohn's Disease and being prescribed heavy pain medication for many years, she acquired an opioid addiction. This year on December 18, 2023, would have marked her 12th year of being clean and sober.
Jennifer is survived by her husband, Stanley Gaberdiel of Spencerville; eleven children, Cody Richard Roberts of Delphos, Corey Joseph Roberts of Spencerville, Caleb Aaron Roberts of San Diego, CA, Chad "Tyson" Lee Hoffer of Spencerville, Isabella Grace Gaberdiel of Spencerville, Gabriella Faith Gaberdiel of Spencerville, Ryan Taylor Gaberdiel of Lima, Jacob Scott Gaberdiel of Lima, Brea Michelle Gaberdiel of Lima, Isaac D Gaberdiel of Lima and Erica Star Gaberdiel of Lima; her granddaughter, Ariella Gaberdiel; her mother, Rebecca Kay (John) Greber of St. Mary's; four siblings, David Aaron Hoffer of Lima, Kelly Lynn (Jason Roberts) Coby of Lima, Tracy Lynn Hoffer and Stacy Ann Miller of Wapakoneta; her father-in-law, Stanley D Gaberdiel of Shawnee and mother-in-law, Cindy Gaberdiel of Lima. She was preceded in death by her father, Gary Hoffer; paternal grandparents, Vernie & Millie Ruth Hoffer and maternal grandparents, Philip and Geraldine Fishbaugh.
There will be a visitation from 12:00-2:00 p.m. followed by her funeral at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2023 at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Pastor Jim Fletcher officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Spencerville Cemetery.
