Ohio City; Jerry J. "Joe" Ruwoldt, 55, of Ohio City, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022 near Crooksville , Ohio, with his son by his side.
Joe was born August 28, 1966 in St. Mary's, Ohio to Jerry and Suzanne (McKenzie) Ruwoldt. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Robert "Huff" and Suzanne (McKenzie) Eutsler of Spencerville, Ohio.
He is survived by his son Joshua J. and Ashley (Stirn) Gallimore of Spencerville and his daughter Jessica S. (Adam) Ruwoldt of Indianapolis, IN., one step-daughter Chelsey (Derrick) Jackson and three step-sons, Justin Jackson, Nathan Jackson and Matthew Jackson, three grandchildren, Olivia, Lillian and Amelia Gallimore.
Joe also has three surviving sisters, Kristine (Tony) Devita, Karen (Dan) Hittle and Kathryn "Katie" (Bryan) Counts, all of whom reside in Spencerville, his half-brother Jeremy Ruwoldt of Wilshire and many nieces and nephews.
Joe was employed full time at the Ohio City Auto Salvage. He also owned and operated Knuckles Up Customs with his son Josh in Spencerville. He had lots of hobbies that brought him the joy of so many friends over the years. Through his journey, he gained two passions in life that brought along two whole families with them, and those included the Ohio City Fire and EMS and the Iron Brotherhood MC. He had the gift of never knowing a stranger and everyone who met him went away a friend. He had a love that was long and deep for his friends and family.
The Family is holding a Memorial Service/ Celebration of Life service on his birthday, Sunday, August 28 th . The service will be held at the Ohio City Community Building, 306 Lambert St. at 3 PM.
A procession on Joe's Day will be led by the Ohio City Fire Truck from his shop, Knuckles Up Customs in Spencerville. All are welcome to join the procession, as we will be meeting at 2 PM in Spencerville, and leaving promptly at 2:30 PM.
