JOAN DANIELS
KOSSUTH — Joan Daniels, 85, of Kossuth, died Thursday afternoon , April 23, 2015 in her home following an extended illness, with her family at her side.
She was born January 13, 1930 in Mercer County, a daughter of Jesse and Erma Harris Harner, who are deceased. On March 29, 1947 she married Vernon L. Il Vern" Daniels, who survives, along with 3 children; Cheri (Keith) Savidge of Spencerville; Mary Jane (Mike) Grigsby of Leadhill, Ark. and Steve (Twila Knittle) Daniels of Spencerville; 5 grandchildren; Todd Savidge of Spencerville; Brian (Karen) Savidge of Elida; Michael Grigsby of Spencervil'e; Christina Grigsby of Ark.and Josie Daniels of Spencerville; 8 great grandchildren; Devon Savidge of Spencerville; Calvin Grigsby of Delphos; Kaisha, Jamarie 8 Marque Grigsby, all of Ark.; Jazzy Bryant and May-lia Gannon, both of Ark. and Jaydon Grigsby of Spencerville and 3 great great grandchildren; Paityne, Bailee and Colton Stockland, all of Spencerville; one sister; Patricia (Jack dec'd) Fisher of Fort Wayne and 3 sisters-in-law; Betty Harner of St. Marys; Joanne Harner ofFostoria and Mary Harner of Celina.
She was preceded in death by eleven siblings; Pauline (Dewey) Spence; Margaret (Harry) Deitrick; Mary (Farmer) Bernard; Dwight (Ruth) Harner; Ralph Harner; Hayde (Gladys) Harner; Fred Harner; Kenny (Donna) Harner•, Bill (Tilly) Harner and Eyne "Honk" Harner.
Joan had attended the St. Marys Schools and worked in the cafeteria at Joint Twp. Memorial Hospital in St. Marys for 28 years, retiring in 1978. She had been a member of the Kossuth-Zion United Methodist Church and its ladies society. She enjoyed working with her husband to build their home, wallpapering and finishing cabinets.
Funeral services will be 1 PM Monday in the Thomas E. Baytiff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Rev. David W. Howell officiating. Burial will follow in the Kossuth Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 until 6 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
