Moorman
December 18, 1937 – June 7, 2022
John Leroy Moorman, 84, of Spencerville went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. He was born December 18, 1937, in the house that he lived in his entire life. His parents were the late Titus E. and Zella J. Moorman. On June 22, 1957, he married Caroleen Graessle who survives in Spencerville. John and Caroleen would have celebrated their "65" wedding anniversary this year.
Also, surviving are three sons, Jerry (Lori) Moorman of Columbus Grove, Mike (Lisa) Moorman and Brian (Cyndie) Moorman of Spencerville. Ten grandchildren, Heather (Tom) Lammers of Lewis Center, Miranda (Joel) Lee of Spencerville, Adam Moorman of Columbus, Luke (Jessica) Moorman of Spencerville, Briana (Austin Sherman) Moorman of Wilmington, NC, Alexandra Hamrick of Spencerville, Lynae (Matt) Stacey of McComb, and Brandon (Brooke) Anspach of Rawson. Ten great-grandchildren, Jackson Lee, Eva and Owen Lammers, Gannon, Aria, and Rowyn Moorman, Quinn and Emry Stacey, Brylie and Blair Anspach, and a sister-in-law Emaline Core.
Preceding him in death are one brother, Harold (Melva) Moorman and three sisters, Maxine (Bob) Mullenhour, Ruth (Don) Rothe, Doris (Paul) Laman, and numerous sister and brothers-in-law.
John was a member of Hartford Independent Baptist Church where he loved to attend and see his church family. He was an avid Spencerville Bearcat fan where he spent countless hours in the stands supporting his boys, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed attending the local fairs supporting his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Farming was John's life along with hunting, fishing, and most of all his family.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 11 th , at 11:00 a.m. at Thomas E Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 10 th , from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Memorial contributions can be made to Hartford Independent Baptist Church or Spencerville Athletic Boosters. Condolences may be sent to tbayliff@woh.rr.com.
