SPENCERVILLE — Joyce Marie Bernadette Goecke 1938 - 2018. On August 10, 2018, Joyce Marie Bernadette Goecke passed away suddenly. Joyce was born on October 14, 1938, in Glandorf, Ohio to the late Louis and Anna Recker. She was the youngest of twelve children, nine preceded her in death. Also, preceded in death by her beloved daughter-in-law, Janet Lynne Goecke. Joyce was educated at Glandorf High School in Glandorf, Ohio, where she met her life's love, Kenneth Goecke.

Joyce and Ken married on March 31, 1959, and ten children were born from this union. They resided at 525 South Defiance Trail, Spencerville, Ohio, where their kids were raised on the family farm. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church for 50 years.

Joyce was a deeply religious woman with a constant devotion to praying the rosary and prayers to the Holy Mother, Mary. She was a strong Catholic who raised her kids to serve God. She was a kind, smart, sweet soul who loved spending time and laughing with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and friend, always putting others first. Joyce joyfully shared her life with her one true love, Ken, enjoying daily trips out to lunch, especially Sunday lunches after church with her family at Godfathers Pizza. Her days were brightened by the beautiful bouquets her husband cut for her out of the flower gardens he planted with all of her favorites.

Also, her 42 grandchildren, Daniel (Sara) Goecke, Toby (Beth) Goecke, Tyler (Reagan) Goecke, Whitney Goecke, Lucas (Kaitlin) Nourse, Logan Nourse, Mason Nourse, Sophia Nourse, Grant Goecke, Grace Goecke, Gage Goecke, Gabrielle Goecke, Gillian Goecke, Gianna Goecke, Derek Goecke, Zachary Goecke, Jackson Goecke, Olivia Goecke, Samuel Goecke, Montana MacDonald, Sutton MacDonald, Sela MacDonald, Lachlan MacDonald, Kennan MacDonald, Breac MacDonald, Jacob Hoying, Ava Hoying, Layla Hoying, Nash Hoying, Landon Fickell, Luca Fickell, Aydon Fickell, Ashton Fickell, Laykon Fickell, Lucian Fickell, Keegan Goecke, Lilyan Goecke, Claire Goecke, Boston Goecke, Chase Goecke, Hanna Goecke, and Ella Joyce Goecke. Also, her 9 great-grandchildren, Charlotte Goecke, Katherine Goecke, Maria Goecke, Gwen Goecke, Michael Goecke, Cale Goecke, Collins Goecke, Lincoln Goecke and Emma Joyce Nourse.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 500 South Canal Street, Spencerville, Ohio 45887. Mass for the Holy Day of Assumption of Mary following at 1:30PM. Father Walsh will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Spencerville Cemetery, assisted by Thomas Bayliff Funeral homes.
