LIMA, formerly of Wapakoneta — Kay Elaine Goodwin, age 82 of Lima, left this earthly world on September 12, 2022 at Shawnee Manor. Kay was born January 28, 1940 to late Jesse P. and Dorothy F. Thomas Stevens. She had formerly been married to Thomas Goodwin, who passed away on May 17, 2021.
Kay graduated from Blume High School. Kay had been a homemaker most of her life but also had worked at the deli/bakery of Ray's Grocery store and at Kewpee Hamburgers. She enjoyed collecting and selling antiques throughout her life. She loved going to garage sales, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are 6 daughters – Cynthia (James) Offenbaker of Punta Gorda, Florida; Christine (Dean) Windau of Columbus Grove; Lisa (John Banman) Sherman of St. Marys; Kelly (Lyle) Wheeler of Lima; Jodie (Ed) Coil of Wapakoneta; Victoria (Michael) Miller of Lima; 18 grandchildren – Brandon, Matthew (Laura), Andrew (Anya), Kaitlyn Ring ; Clayton (Breanne), Gavin (Bridgette) and Taylor Windau; Zachary (Katy), Zane, Nicholas and Samantha Sherman; Evan, Riley and Audrey Wheeler; Charlotte Maxwell; Morgan, Sophia and Olivia Miller. Her legacy also includes great-grandchildren: Ethan, Austin, and Noah Ring; Brock, Peyton and Reese Windau; Cali Jo Windau.
Of her family of 12 brothers and sisters, surviving are: Gregory (Yvonne) Stevens of Lima; Larry Stevens of North Carolina; John (Beth) Stevens of Florida; Barry (Nikki) Stevens of Wapakoneta, Marlene McKee of St. Marys and Dorothy (Barry) Swallow of Lima.
Preceding her in death were an infant son, Thomas Steven, brothers; Charles Stevens, Richard (Twila) Stevens; Gene (Fran) Stevens; Bill (Bobbie) Stevens, Michael Stevens and Thomas Stevens.
The family thanks Lima Manor for their 6 years of love and care of Kay prior to her recent transfer to Shawnee Manor. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's or to Shawnee Manor Bingo/ Activities Fund.
There will be a visitation from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM followed by her funeral service at 3:00 PM Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville. Burial will take place following the service at Maplewood Cemetery 3 miles east of Spencerville. Brad Taylor, Pastor of Lima Community Church will officiate.
