Ohio City; Kersten F. Archer, 50, formerly of Spencerville, passed away at 10:56 PM Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at her residence in Ohio City, with her family at her side, following her four year battle with cancer.
She was born May 13, 1972 in Spencerville to Richard E. "Dick" Fryer, who survives in the Delphos Vancrest Assisted Living Facility and Linda L. Binkley Fryer, who is deceased. On December 18, 2004, she married James L. "Jim" Archer, Jr., who survives.
Kersten is also survived by three children, Devlin Hinojosa of Laredo, TX., Tazmin J. Archer and Desirae N. Archer, both of Ohio City, four step-children: Jennifer L., Jessica N., Christina M. and Alyssa Archer, all of Lima; her siblings, Katrena L. Fryer Laber of Fayette, OH., Richard Bradley "Brad" (Shana) Fryer and Teresa A. (Carl) Wienken, both of Venedocia, OH.
She is a 1990 graduate of Spencerville High School and served in the Armed Forces from January 1991 to March 1992. She graduated from the Laredo Community College with her RN degree and has been an open heart nurse for 25 years, part of the time as a travel nurse. She also enjoyed being in 4-H and Girl Scouts as a child and was a Girl Scout and Boy Scout Leader with her children. One of her proudest accomplishments is being Divinely called to organize and maintain the weekly community meal at the Rockford United Methodist Church in Rockford the last ten years.
Funeral services will be 8 PM Tuesday, June 14 th in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, with Pastor Thurlow "Chip" Steffy officiating. Graveside services will be at a later date in the Fort Amanda Cemetery, Southeast of Spencerville in Auglaize County.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 PM Tuesday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rockford United Methodist Church, 202 S. Franklin St., Rockford, Ohio 45882.
