LAURIE BARNES

SPENCERVILLE — Laurie L. Holtzhauer Barnes, 54, of Radcliff KY, and formerly of Spencerville, died at 6:28 AM Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Ky, following a sudden illness.

She was born May 6, 1961 in Lima, a daughter of Eugene J. and Wanita R. "Sweetie" Graessle Holtzhauer, who are deceased. On May 4, 1983 she married Willie L. Barnes, Sr, who survives.

Laurie was a graduate of Spencerville High School and was employed as cafeteria manager of the T.K. Stone Elementary School and formerly of the St. Christopher Elementary School in Radcliff. She attended the Kossuth -Zion United Methodist Church in Kossuth and was a life member of the Bowersock Bros. VFW Post #6772 Auxiliary in Spencerville.

Survivors also include three children; Darrell D (Fiance Joleen Bascetta) Bolinger of Panama City, FL; Paul W (Fiance Brenda Gaines) of Meade Co., KY; and Willie L. Barnes, Jr. of Radcliff, KY.; 5 grandchildren; her step father: Maurice "Shorty" Hager of Spencerville: and four siblings; David (Donna) Holtzhauer of Spencerville; Beverly (Mark) Harbert of Buckland: Jan (Dave) Bolinger of Spencerville and Tina Jones of Leitchfield, KY.

She was preceded in death by an infant son: Zachary Barnes and her sister: Donna Jean (Roger) Crites.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Monday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Rev. David W. Howell officiating. Burial will follow in the Kossuth Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home, where the VFW Auxiliary will conduct services at 7:45 PM Sunday.
