LESLIE E. SANDKUHL

SPENCERVILLE — Leslie E. Sandkuhl, 72, of Spencerville Ohio, passed away at 2:39 a.m. on May 23, 2016 surrounded by his loving family at the OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.

Leslie was born May 26,1943 in Lima, Ohio to Charles and Evalyn Sandkuhl, who preceded him in death.

He graduated from Spencerville High School in 196L and married his loving wife Jacquelyn Redick on June 20,1965.

Leslie spent most of his life working at Sandkuhl Clay Works, Inc, (formally Sandkuhl Tile Company) in Kossuth where he was a 3rd generation co-owner/operator with his brother Lyle Sandkuhl.

Les is survived by wife Jacquelyn, daughters Ann (Kenneth) Engh and Michelle (Eric) Ballinger, grandchildren Lydia Engh, Luke Ballinger, Andrew Ballinger and Brayden Ballinger, sister Charlene (Charles) Dille and brother Lyle (Kathy) Sandkuhl.

Leslie served several years in the the Ohio National Guard. He also served on the Spencerville School Board, Allen County Children's Services Board, Spencerville Economic Development Group, American Ceramic Society, Drain Tile Association and Crooked Lake Property Owners Association. and was a long time supporter of the Kossuth-Zion United Methodist Church.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the lake house on Crooked Lake in Indiana. He was very proud of his grandchildren and supported them by attending their numerous sporting and musical events. His hobbies included wood carving with friends, remodeling, and restoring the family antique boat.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday, May 27, 2016, in the Kossuth-Zion Church with the Rev. David W. Howell officiating. Burial will follow in the Kossuth Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1 to 3 and 6 until 8 PM Thursday at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville and after 10 AM Friday at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Kossuth Church or to the Crooked Lake Property Owners Assn. in care of the funeral home.
