Spencerville; Linda Sue Fast, 78, of Spencerville, passed away at 6:30 AM Monday, October 4, 2021 at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center with her family at her side, following an extended illness.
She was born August 4, 1943 in Clinton, IN. Her adoptive parents were the late James and Erma (Reeves) Ewing. On May 12, 1963 she married William "Bill" Fast, who survives, along with their sons; Christopher Fast of Spencerville, Chad Fast of Lima and Corey Fast of Spencerville; six grandchildren; Britney (Andrew) Beougher of Van Wert, Benjamin (Danielle Sander) Fast of New Albany, Cody (Madison Hollar) Fast of Cincinnati, Hayden (Timothy Russell) Fast of Springfield, Paige (Ivan Cabanas) Fast of Columbus and Joseph (Cadence Frew) Hart of Columbus Grove and 8 great grandchildren; Emma, A.J. and Evelyn Beougher, Teagen Stieneker, Stella Hines, Timber and Tuesday Russell, Ace Cabanas and her brother David (Toni) Hubble of Tucson, AZ. and sisters-in-law; Aiko Ewing of N.C. and Eloise Hubble of Bluffton, IN.
Linda was preceded in death by her brothers Lester Ewing and Lewis Hubble.
On top being a loving Wife, a great Mother and a proud Grand parent, Linda kept busy working…from being a bank teller in Chicago and Fort Wayne, she spent several years at Hayes-Albion in Spencerville, managed the Spencerville pool and obtained her real estate license. She was the church secretary at New Hope Christian Center in Lima and was secretary to the Dean at Rhema Bible Training College in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She worked for the City of Lima on two separate occasions and where she eventually retired. She loved making and selling crafts under the business name Granny's Daughter from the store front in Spencerville for 25 years. She was a member of Only Believe Ministries in Botkins.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Pastors Nicole Waters and Ed Ingram officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencerville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 PM Friday and after 10 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
